CPNI Policy
Last updated: June 2026
S Mobile Wireless USA, LLC — doing business as S Mobile Wireless, S-Mobile, and S Mobile, and referred to in this policy as "S Mobile Wireless," "we," "us," or "our" — is committed to protecting the confidentiality of Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) as required by Section 222 of the Communications Act and the FCC's implementing rules (47 C.F.R. Part 64, Subpart U). This policy explains what CPNI is, how we use and protect it, and your rights.
What is CPNI
CPNI is information related to the quantity, technical configuration, type, destination, location, and amount of use of your wireless service, along with information contained in your bill. Examples include call and data usage records, calling patterns, and the services and features you subscribe to. CPNI does not include your name, address, or phone number, which are treated as subscriber list information under applicable law.
How we use CPNI without your approval
- To provide, bill, and collect for the wireless or VoIP service you already have with S Mobile Wireless.
- To protect our rights and property, and to protect customers and other carriers from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful use of service.
- To provide service-related products (such as customer premises equipment) directly connected to the service you already receive.
- When disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or a lawful request from law enforcement.
How we use CPNI with your approval
To market additional S Mobile Wireless products or service categories you do not already subscribe to, or to share CPNI with our affiliates or agents for marketing purposes, we obtain your approval first (opt-in or opt-out, as applicable under FCC rules). You may withdraw approval at any time by contacting us using the details below.
Protecting your account and CPNI
We authenticate customers before discussing or granting access to CPNI over the phone, online, or in-store. Consistent with FCC rules, we do not authenticate accounts using readily available biographical or account information (such as a customer's date of birth, mailing address, or the last four digits of a Social Security number) alone. Online access to CPNI requires a password that is not itself derived from biographical information. Password or authentication resets are subject to reasonable verification before CPNI is disclosed.
Sharing CPNI with third parties
We do not sell CPNI. We do not share CPNI with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share CPNI with service providers who perform functions on our behalf (such as billing, customer support, or fraud prevention), who are contractually required to protect it and use it only for the purpose we authorize.
Data breach notification
If we determine that a breach of CPNI has occurred, we will notify affected customers and, where required, law enforcement and the FCC in accordance with applicable rules and timelines.
Annual compliance certification
As required by FCC rules, S Mobile Wireless files an annual certification with the FCC documenting our compliance with CPNI rules, including a summary of any customer complaints related to the unauthorized disclosure of CPNI. This certification is a matter of public record with the FCC.
Your choices
- Opt out of internal marketing use of your CPNI at any time — there is no charge and it does not affect your service.
- Request details about what CPNI we maintain on your account, subject to identity verification.
- Report suspected unauthorized access to your account or CPNI immediately.
- To exercise any of these choices, email customerservice@smobilewireless.com or call 205-480-5911.
